1956 : Hamdi Başaran founded “Hamdi Başaran Topkapi Oxygen Plant” company and the first gaseous oxygen production began.
1964 : The company renamed to “Habaş Industrial and Medical Gases Inc.”
1967 : Habaş’ s air seperation unit at Topkapi / Istanbul began producing the first liquid oxygen, liquid nitrogen and liquid argon in Turkey. In the following years new air seperation plants of Habaş which located at Izmit, Bilecik and Izmir began production. Production capacity reached to 2800 TPD and total liquified air gases storage capacity reached to 25000 Tons.
1969 : Equipments, machinery, pressurized vessel and steel gas cylinder production began.
1977 : The first production of acetylene gas cylinders in Turkey began at Habaş’ s cylinder manufacturing plant.
1983 : The first production of cryogenic tanks in Turkey began at Habaş’ s metals fabrication plant.
1987 : Liquid steel production began at Aliaga / Izmir with annual capacity of 600.000 mtons. In the following years the annual capacity of the steel mill reached to 3.000.000 mtons.
1990 : The first production of seamless gas cylinders in Turkey began at Habaş’ s cylinder manufacturing plant.
1992 : The bar rolling mill began operating at the steel mill.
1997 :The Group entered the financing sector by acquiring Abadolubank Inc.,in a privatization tender. With 80 branches and 1700 employees by end of 2008, Anadolubank Inc., reached a total asset size of USD 3 billions by the end of 2007.
1999 : Received the Safety Award 1999 of EIGA (European Industrial Gases Association).
2000 : Liquid carbon dioxide production plant began operating at Aliaga / Izmir.
2001 : Habaş began executing the first ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System of the national gas sector.
2002 : Habaş began deliverying LNG (Liquified Natural Gas) to clients for the first time in Turkey.
2003 : Habaş began deliverying CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) to clients for the first time in Turkey.
2004 : The 240 MW natural gas combined cycle power plant began operating at Aliaga/Izmir.
2007 : The largest gaseous hydrogen production plant began operating at Izmit.
2008 : The second plant for metals fabrication began operating at Gebze/Kocaeli.
